Bank management 'ought to account'

SENIOR management at the UK's banks should be held accountable for their continued failure to deliver for consumers, an Edinburgh conference will be told today.

Kay Blair, vice-chair of the Financial Services Consumer Panel, will call for banks failing to deal satisfactorily with customer complaints to be named and shamed; for greater scrutiny of products by the regulator; and for more intensive supervision of the market. Blair will be speaking at the Scottish Financial Services Conference at the capital's George Hotel.
