Baillie Gifford trust outperforms index

Baillie Gifford's Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust has increased its net asset value by 3 per cent during the first half, outperforming its benchmark index, the FTSE All World, which fell 4 per cent.

The trust, managed by James Anderson, said its share price rose by 5 per cent in the six months to the end of September. The interim dividend rose to 5.8p.
