BAE wins $450m vehicle deal in US

BAE Systems has been awarded a $449.9 million (£271.9m) contract on the development phase of the US army’s ground combat vehicle programme.

The group will work with American firm Northrop Grumman to offer a vehicle that brings “more survivability, mobility and versatility” to the army. Mark Signorelli, general manager of weapon systems at BAE Systems, said: “[This] brings us one step closer to fielding a vehicle for our soldiers that is affordable, provides for maximum force protection and is built to accommodate future technological enhancements.”
