ASDA warning over noodle dish

ASDA has withdrawn from sale an instant noodle product amid fears that it has become contaminated with a shellfish product which could make allergy sufferers ill.

The supermarket’s Chosen by You Chicken & Mushroom Noodle Pouch has been removed from shelves after it emerged that it contained a shellfish powder which could pose a health risk for people with an allergy to prawns. The affected product, which only relates to items with a 22 and 23 April “use by” date, should be returned to Asda for a refund, the Food Standards Authority said.

“Customers with an allergy to prawns (crustaceans) are advised not to eat this product, but to return it to the nearest Asda store for a full refund,” said a statement on the FSA website.

No other Asda products are known to be affected.
