Asco appoints leaders for European business

Asco Group, the Aberdeen-based energy logistics specialist, has unveiled a string of high-level appointments as it beefs up its core European team.

The firm said Europe was its largest business, encompassing operations in the UK, Netherlands and Norway, and employing more than 1,000 staff.

Scott Donald, Europe finance director; Zak Fleming, Europe logistics and operations director; and David Rae, Europe commercial director, will join Walter Robertson, Europe developments director, on the Asco Europe board, which is led by area chief executive Andrew Macdonald.

Robertson took up his position on the Europe board having headed up the group’s freight management division. He joined Asco in 1985.

Macdonald said: “These appointments add significant strength, depth and breadth to our leadership team and I look forward to working with Scott, Zak, David and Walter as we guide Asco’s European business towards further growth and success in the years to come.”

The group, which employs 2,000 people worldwide, said last summer that it was on track to double in size within five years after gaining additional financial muscle from its sale to private equity.
