Arran Brewery is launching a fresh funding drive as it rolls out new products and looks to tap into more overseas markets.

The firm is poised to open its own bottling facility – and, with the help of crowdfunding finance, to launch craft lager and sake breweries.

It used its first-round investment to open an import company focused on the US and Spain, to purchase sites for its continued expansion, and to complete the first phase of an upgrade of the main brewery site on Arran. The craft brewer also pumped money into the development of its hotel and visitor centre on the banks of Loch Earn in St Fillans.

Managing director Gerald Michaluk said: “We need to raise money to see all our ambitious plans realised.”

He said that the business was also targeting expansion through acquisition and was seeking “interesting breweries to buy”. Michaluk added: “It would be great if a brewery approached us before calling in a liquidator.”
