John Newman, chairman of TT Electronics, said: "The board is appreciative of Neil Rodgers' contribution to the group over the last 16 years. He departs with our best wishes. We are delighted to be able to announce the appointment of Geraint Anderson. His considerable knowledge of, and strategic experience within, the electronics industry will be a great asset."

In a statement released yesterday, the board said: "As previously announced, the group expects the results for the first half year will be lower than in the corresponding period in 2007. The trading outlook for the year is unchanged from our interim management statement."

In May, TT said it was taking a cautious view for its current financial year amid concern about the credit crisis.

TT, which has a market cap of about 188 million, recently said demand for generator sets and un-interruptible power supplies was strong in the Middle East and Africa.
