Amor wins hospital records deal

Expanding Scottish IT firm Amor Group has won a contract to design a new clinical records system at Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank.

The new cardiac, thoracic and cardiology system will help to deliver "efficiencies and cost savings" for the NHS by "streamlining" the way information is recorded, stored, shared and documented.

The deal signals an expansion into clinical work for Glasgow-based Amor and is expected to pave the way for additional work in the medical field.

Alastair O'Brien, public sector business unit director at Amor, said the system could be employed in other hospitals.

"We have vast experience in healthcare IT solutions and this move into clinical systems is a natural progression, so we were delighted to be awarded the contract after a successful tendering process," he said.

Last week, Amor took another stride towards its ambitious goal of doubling turnover by 2012 with a new contract worth 15 million over five years, with oil and gas logistics company Asco.
