AIR cuts Japan disaster estimate

Risk modeling company AIR has lowered its estimate for insured losses from the Japanese earthquake and tsunami from $35 billion (£22bn) to $30bn.

AIR competitor Eqecat has estimated all-in losses at up to $25bn, while the industry's third player, RMS, has not released a figure.
