Activist investor nets online boost for fight

ACTIVIST investor FairPensions has today launched an online tool to galvanise support in its fight against involvement in controversial tar sands projects by oil majors BP and Shell.

The website will encourage members of the public to petition their pension funds to support resolutions demanding the oil firms provide reports on the environment and reputational risks associated with tar sands projects.

The site, backed by FairPension supporter the Co-operative, lists those pension funds that will vote at the oil companies' AGMs in April and May.
