Aberdeen base on the cards for FarrPoint
The firm, led by chief executive Andrew Muir, made its first foray into the oil industry last year but has already been involved in a project with Total to help the French group replace telephony infrastructure across its onshore and offshore locations.
FarrPoint employs 12 people and Muir said the company was seeking to grow its workforce to between 20 and 25 people within three years.
Principal consultant Richard Moir admitted that Aberdeen was “a hard nut to crack” because of the close-knit nature of the oil industry, but establishing a base in the Granite City could help it pick up more work from the sector. A former technical director at US networking giant Cisco, Moir joined the Edinburgh-based firm last year.
