A toast to McClure Naismith partner

Mark Adams will be raising a glass after joining Glasgow-based law firm McClure Naismith.

The commercial property specialist is well known in the industry as the wine columnist for Property Week, and has joined the firm’s London office as a partner in its fast-growing property unit.

Previously Adams had been running his own niche practice where he advised funds, property companies and investors on “comm prop” transactions.

At McClure he will work closely with the London office and the Scottish property team to develop the firm’s profile and its penetration of the English property market.

Adams has a first class law degree from the University of Sheffield, is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an attorney at the bar of the state of New York. He also holds a diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.

Banker Peter Roper is another man of many talents, having recently qualified as an alpine ski leader.

However, he appears to have resisted the temptations of the piste for now and has joined Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management as relationship manager and vice-president.

The former RBS man will be based in Edinburgh, providing advice to new and existing clients on the management and structuring of their wealth.

Roper has worked with private clients for nearly 20 years for a number of banks.

As well as experience of managing the wealth of private individuals, he has continued to build his qualifications and was awarded chartered status with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment in 2010.

Property consultancy Knight Frank has appointed Jim Kirkwood as consultant land agent to help build the firm’s land development services across Scotland.
