3D Diagnostic in sales shake-up

Dundee-based 3D Diagnostic Imaging says a new deal to market its Cariescan tooth decay sensor in the US and Canada on a mostly commission-only basis will save it £500,000 a year while more than doubling its sales staff.

The firm, which last month issued a profits warning due to a now-solved manufacturing problem, will cut its directly employed sales team of eight in America and use dental sales specialist CoreStrength instead. CoreStrength will use a sales team of 22, with 3D Diagnostic contributing to the cost of a jointly agreed marketing plan.
