250 vie for clothing firm job

A UNIFORM specialist based in the Capital said it was inundated with more than 250 applications for a post it recently advertised.

In another sign of the huge demand for jobs in Edinburgh, NKD Clothing said there was strong competition for the role of assistant project manager.

It eventually chose Aberdeen University graduate Stephanie Yapp to help drive growth.

Following her appointment, the 27-year-old from West Calder said: "I'm not surprised there was considerable interest in the position because, although it's a clich, it's every girl's dream to work in fashion.

"I'm delighted I managed to beat such tough competition. It's a really exciting time to have joined NKD Clothing because we're exploring the opportunity to introduce our brand to a host of potential clients across the globe."
