20 new jobs set to flow into Paradigm

A NORTH-EAST technology start-up has unveiled plans to recruit 20 staff this year, as it targets £5 million of sales.

Aberdeen-based Paradigm Flow Solutions (PFS) has developed a system for clearing blockages in pipes both on offshore oil and gas rigs and under the sea.

The company, which was launched last year, already has seven staff and has been advising the Health & Safety Executive on setting guidelines for the inspection of older North Sea rigs.

PFS was founded by managing director Rob Bain, who has 20 years' experience as an engineer and manager at Shell and BG Group, and technical director Hugh Mackenzie, who spent 11 years developing technology for Halliburton and Weatherford.

The company aims to expand by targeting Asia and the United States, which also have aging oil rigs.
