Mackintosh titled the drawings, which date from 1900, “An Artist’s Cottage and Studio”, probably intending the building to be for himself and his wife Margaret MacDonald.
It wasn’t built in his lifetime, but the plans were revived in 1992, with the Farr cottage, the result.
