Where was 3 Nottingham Terrace?

HARRY Watson, from Braehead Grove, has been researching his family tree and hopes readers may be able to help with a query. "An ancestor of mine died in Edinburgh in 1845 and the death register gives his address as 3 Nottingham Terrace. Does anyone know where this street was?" he asks.

SEVERAL readers made contact to reveal is was in Greenside, built around 1812 by Samual Wordsworth, a stable owner. Apparently, it was known occasionally as Nottingham Place but as Nottingham Terrace by about 1861. There were stables at the south end.
