Where there's muck there's brass bands

A GROUP of Scottish ex-miners hope to strike gold in the charts by joining up with UK's best-known colliery bands united to sign a deal for a new album.

Buckhaven & Methil Miners Brass Band will line up with several others, including the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, who provided the soundtrack to the 1994 film Brassed Off, featuring the miners' struggles against pit closure.
