Young Highlands-born singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni brings her contemporary folk sound to Inchyra Arts Club for the first time tonight. Sermanni released her second solo album, Tied to the Moon, earlier this year and has toured the world since breaking onto the indie-folk scene in 2011 at the tender age of 18. In the past Sermanni has supported the likes of Elvis Costello, Mumford & Sons and Ron Sexsmith, but this up-and-comer is more than ready to take centre stage.

THEATRE: WHAT GOES AROUND

Two versatile actors play seven different characters in this contemporary sex comedy from renowned Scottish playwright Liz Lochhead. The story begins when – after day one of rehearsals together – an actor and actress decide to break the ice with a drink and one thing leads to another. Humorous yet thouhgtful, What Goes Around riffs on Arthur Schnitzler’s famous work La Ronde, focusing on the messy consequences of modern sexual entanglements.

EXHIBITION: KENNARDPHILLIPPS - HERE COMES EVERYBODY

About to enter its final month on show, the collaborative kennardphillipps exhibition ‘Here Comes Everybody’ at Stills Gallery in Edinburgh is a fascinating collection of socially and politically-motivated artwork. London-based artists Peter Kennard and Cat Phillips came together in response to the 2003 invasion of Iraq and perhaps their best known piece from the exhibition features a digitally manipulated Tony Blair, apparently snapping a selfie in front of a fiery blaze. Fantastically controversial and innovative, make the most of this show while it’s still in town.

CLUB: MAKE NOISE ELECTRONIC RECYCLING TOUR

A club night with a difference – entry to the Make Noise Electronic Recycling Tour is free, provided you bring along and donate an old electronic gadget. Headlining act The 2 Bears will be joined by Heavenly Jukebox DJs and local Dundee legend Dicky Trisco. Started in 2010, the project has toured the UK ever since selling out venues and recycling tonnes of electronic waste equipment that would otherwise be gathering dust in the back of your wardrobe.

Your last chance to see director Baljit Singh’s moving Punjabi film about the 1984 Sikh genocide in India on the big screen. The plot follows a young woman (played by Varsha Chaudary) as she seeks revenge for the rape of her sister and murder of her family during the aforementioned 1984 riots.
