Who did you last text?

A friend who, like me, is a keen cyclist. I was asking if a trip over the Pyrenees on a bike would satisfy a desire for a change.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

"Never be afraid to tread your own path."

What's the worst job you ever had?

I have never done anything I didn't want to do. My philosophy is if you don't like it, then don't start doing it.

Who is your favourite fictional character?

PG Wodehouse's Jeeves.

What are you afraid of?

Wasting time.

Did you have a nickname growing up?

What was it and why? Nothing really stuck.

What situations make you lose your temper?

Incompetence and time-wasting discussions.

What would your alternate profession be?

Marine biologist.

What food or drink is always in your fridge?

Lots of fresh veg, fruit and juice.

Being less impatient.If you could travel back in time, where would you go?

Renaissance Italy.

Saturday night or Sunday morning?

Sunday morning: up at dawn to go for a long ride on my bike before returning home in time for a cooked breakfast and strong coffee with the family.

Who or what is the love of your life?

Aside from the four girls in my life it must be the ability to be creative.
