What happened to waitress Elizabeth Stewart?

IVAN Collins, from Australia, wants to know what happened to a city waitress called Elizabeth Stewart.

"This is my mystery," he writes. "In May 1917, while recovering in Scotland, William Edward "Billy" Sing met Elizabeth A Stewart, the daughter of Royal Navy cook George Stewart. The two were married on 29 June 1917 in Edinburgh. In July 1917, Elizabeth Sing's address was noted in records as 6 Spring Gardens, Stockbridge. I found a later address in army archives of 30 Buchanan Street, but I don't know what happened to her?"
