Virgin Money extend capital fireworks concert deal

VIRGIN Money will sponsor the annual fireworks concert that heralds the end of the Edinburgh festivals for a further three years, it was announced.

The next edition of the spectacular display will take place on Monday 31 August 2015, and will once again be a partnership between The Edinburgh International Festival, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Virgin Money.

Conductor Garry Walker has been confirmed for this year’s concert, tickets for which will go on sale with the 2015 Edinburgh International Festival programme on 28 March.

Fergus Linehan, director of the International Festival, said: “It’s great that the International Festival can present an event on the scale of the Virgin Money Fireworks Concert to bring all our summer festivals to a big finale and offer everyone in the city a spectacular night out.

Roy McEwan, chief executive of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, said: ‘I am very proud that the Scottish Chamber Orchestra has produced this excellent event for over 30 years, bringing classical music to many people across Edinburgh and beyond, through our broadcast partner Forth One.

He added: “I am delighted that Virgin Money will continue to support this event for a further three years”.
