Up and coming: Kassidy

WHO are Kassidy?Four hirsute young harmony singer/guitarists from Glasgow called Hamish, Barrie-James, Chris and Lewis formed as Cassidy in September 2008, but became Kassidy-with-a-K to distinguish themselves from the rapper of the same name – easily done when you look like the Allman Brothers circa 1974, or Kings of Leon before they started grooming.

But what do they sound like?

Imagine a less ethereal version of Fleet Foxes with more of a grounding in trad indie rock and some straightforward singalong choruses. Their mainly acoustic set-up is supplemented with box drums and the occasional touch of accordion.

What have they been up to?

Last year they played at T In The Park and released a single Night In The Box on King Tut's Recordings. The song reappears on their major label debut, The Rubbergum EP, named after the studio where they recorded it, and they are currently at work on their debut album with Arctic Monkeys/Kasabian producer Jim Abbiss.
