Synaesthesia II at the UNION gallery in Edinburgh is an exploration of the sensory relationship between music and colour. Artist Trevor Jones listened to Scottish bands while painting for the exhibition and the results are directly influenced by the music.

Some of the artists who inspired him include Biffy Clyro, Mogwai, plus Frightened Rabbit, Idlewild and We Were Promised Jetpacks, who also signed a guitar donated by Gibson and the Hard Rock Cafe, which is to be raffled off to raise funds for the Art In Healthcare charity Jones works for.

The exhibition opens on 4 November and there will be MP3 players loaded with the artists' music throughout the gallery. Visit www.trevorjonesart.com for more
