It followed the successful transition of former England 7’s international Alex Gray, who has progressed onto a Futures Contract with the Atlanta Falcons.

Scotland-Williamson, like Gray, was selected as part of the new NFL International Player Pathway programme, which targets world class athletes in other sports, outside of North America, who have the athletic capability and skill set to potentially compete to play in the NFL with a selected franchise.

He is now part of the Practice Squad at the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2018/19 season – the first team he ever watched play as a young boy growing up in the UK.

NFL Flag, presented by Subway, is a programme which aims to bring the NFL closer to everyone by encouraging families to get fit and active.
