Theatre review: Kaya - Dream Interpreter, Assembly George Square (Venue 3), Edinburgh

There is potentially interesting material in this hour with Canadian musician-turned-dream interpreter Kaya.

Kaya – Dream Interpreter

Assembly George Square (Venue 3)

Star rating: * *

His show plays out as part seminar, part audience consultation, with some additional examples of freaky dreams gleaned from vox pops around Edinburgh.

However, the New Age-y jargon he employs in the show, along with his rather rambling analyses and the overly fussy graphics and unintentionally funny films in his PowerPoint presentation are a distraction from the central simple attraction of finding out just what those monkeys were doing jumping out of your mouth in the first place.

But one thing’s for sure – if you dream of a dog peeing fire it’s not looking good.
