Theatre review: Irreconcilable Differences Gryphon Venues at The Point Hotel (Venue 109)

Who dies? You decide, in this well-conceived but unconvincingly executed two-hander by Irish company Refractive Lens Theatre.

RATING: * *

Bound together, in a kind of subconscious anteroom to death’s door, Polly and Ben fight over their flawed and damaged marriage, as they try to agree on who was at the wheel when they drove off a bridge after a furious drunken argument. The prerecorded audio parts are clumsy, and the whole thing feels underdeveloped. But the vote-casting element is a nice touch, in so far as it forces you to drum up empathy and take a side.

Until 25 August.
