Let the Right One In play to star Deacon Blue singer
She will be reunited with a co-star from previous NTS show Beautiful Burnout, Ewan Stewart, in the adaptation of the cult Swedish book and film Let The Right One In, which launches next month.
Rising star Rebecca Benson will play the key role of a vampire who strikes up a relationship with a bullied schoolboy, to be played by Martin Quinn, in his professional professional stage role.

Hide AdMcIntosh, a founder member of Deacon Blue, who celebrated their 25th anniversary last year, has carved out a successful acting career since 1998, when her band were taking a break from the music scene.
Her breakthrough role was in Ken Loach’s award-winning drama My Name Is Joe and she went on to appear in the likes of River City, Hope Springs and Taggart. As well as Beautiful Burnout, which was first staged at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, she appeared in another NTS play the following year, Men Should Weep.
Other cast members confirmed for Let The Right One In - which will be unveiled at Dundee Rep Theatre - include Paul Thomas Hickey, who starred in the Traverse Theatre’s recent hit Quiz Show and the Highlands-set feature film Shell.
The show will be directed by John Tiffany, who was at the helm for previous NTS hits Black Watch and The Bacchae. It has been adapted by John Ajvide Lindqvist’s original novel and film script by the English author and screenwriter Jack Thorne, who will also be bringing a new play to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year.
The soundtrack for the show is being masterminded by Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds, who recently created the score for the recent bit ITV detective series Broadchurch.
Publicity material for the new NTS show states: “Let The Right One In is a tender, funny and brutal love story following the burgeoning relationship between Oskar, a lonely, bullied teenage boy and Eli, a young, centuries-old young vampire who befriends him.”
Let The Right One In is at Dundee Rep Theatre from 5 June.
