June 16th: Scottish Motorfair, Knockhill

The Official Scottish Motorshow is held at the Knockhill Racing Circuit on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June this year, and is sponsored by Road Safety Scotland. A veritable smorgasbord of motoring activity is on offer, including the 4 x 4 Challenge, the Scottish Rally display and demo and a Supercar zone. Best not to get any drool on the Lamborghini though. There are also plenty of Fathers’ Day events on both days, such as the Fathers’ Day Challenge, hosted by the McStig and his karts - the fastest father wins an Aston Martin experience. If that’s not incentive, we don’t know what is.

June 17th: Race for Life, Holyrood Park, Edinburgh

With both a 10k and a 5k option, starting at 10am and 12noon respectively, entrants have the option of running, walking or jogging to help beat cancer. Billed as the biggest fight against the ilness, there are also supplementary activities including bungee runs, a kids’ sumo arena and gladiator jousting (we didn’t ask either). There are events being held across Scotland throughout the summer months, but the Edinburgh event is sure to attract the biggest crowds.
