The Bill to be axed as 'TV tastes change'

POLICE drama The Bill is to be axed by ITV after more than a quarter of a century.

The show was revamped last year to win back viewers, but audiences have fallen steadily to under four million.

ITV said the series was being axed to reflect changing tastes, but pledged to continue investing in quality drama.
