Ted Baker’s spring/summer collection set to dazzle

Ted Baker’s sumptuous womenswear collection puts on a show this SS14 with striking prints, strong silhouettes and intoxicating colours.

Theatrical tones and sorbet shades, including pink, lilac, lemon and mint, are paired with metallic highlights to create a stylish allure. Botanical beauty provides a focus on prints, with Ted Baker’s ‘Rose on Canvas’, ‘Symmetrical Orchid’ and ‘Sugar Sweet Floral’ prints flourishing across clothing and accessories.

Modernised through colour and texture, tailoring features boucle and subtle metallic fabrics, whilst cocoon coats, blazers and cropped jackets are draped effortlessly over the shoulder. Fluid feminine fabrics and cleverly placed pleats and tucks on dresses take a lead role, whilst free flowing dresses and tops twinkle with jewels, adding glamour and charm to the collection.

In contrast, clean lines and structured silhouettes also make an appearance, including colour block dresses, minimal detailing and biker styling adding an edge to jackets and coats. Neon continues to make a statement with Ted Baker’s ‘Electric Day Dreams’ floral print featuring fluorescent flashes. Statement pieces include a lime neoprene dress and a neon yellow knit, teamed with neon yellow bomber jacket and nude leather shorts.

Ted Baker’s menswear collection, meanwhile, is full of flamboyant polish and panache, offering vibrant colours, original prints and thrilling threads.

Stripes, spots, geos and checks appear throughout, whether worn head to toe (step forward Ted Baker’s geo print suit) or as subtle details on clothing and accessories. A pink and white linen stripe blazer conjures up an image of a quintessential English seaside gent, while the geometric floral designs of Turkish tiles provide inspiration for statement printed shirts and accessories.

Jackets feature distinctive debonair touches including smarter tortoiseshell and mother of pearl buttons, and shirts have wider, button down collars. Ted’s iconic linings reflect the diversity of his latest travels, from English straw boater lining prints to the more exotic parrot print.

Already renowned for its traditional fabrications yet unconventional style, Ted Baker’s fishing-inspired Tight Lines collection embraces his many eccentricities this season, and features brighter tones with shades of red, royal blue, orange and coral.

A bold overcheck khaki blazer and royal blue linen check blazer feature orange, ecru and rose highlights, worn with contrasting waistcoats and tonic cotton chinos. Pocket squares and ties in checks and geo prints provide further interest, whilst rising trout and stag print linings and horn burnished buttons add a vintage feel.

Langley

Full of unbridled indulgence, Ted Baker’s SS14 Langley collection creates a soft focus in a barely there palette of soft peach, nude pink and fresh mint alongside sheer fabrics. Tulle and mesh fabrics are modernised with armoury style embellishment trims on dresses, whilst textured metallic boucle pieces add grown up allure.

Enchanted by the romance of Italy, an Italian Cathedral provides the inspiration for the ‘Florentine’ print which appears on a sleeveless top and skinny cigarette pant. For the perfect finale, take a bow in the show stopping ‘China Blue’ print maxi dress which captures the essence of the Orient.

Phormal

Ted Baker’s Phormalwear presents a rich and decadent ‘after hours’ collection, with sumptuous suits in tones of midnight blue, purple and silver grey made with the finest Italian cotton. Paisley, geo and spotted print shirts, ties and pocket squares provide modern finishing touches.

Debonair’s exhilarating personality takes on a preppy influence with a cobalt blue suit and grey linen windowpane check suit referencing the collegiate style of Long Island smart resort wear.

Flaunting the bold and outlandish, Ted Baker’s Global collection closes the show with a flamboyant and fearless statement piece: a psychedelic paisley print in a rich red worn with a contrasting geometric shirt.
