Organisers have revealed plans for a full-scale commemoration of the celebrated Second World War campaign at the event ahead of tickets going on sale on Monday.
More than 120 RAF musicians are expected to take to Edinburgh Castle esplanada for a dramatic sequence, which is expected to be one of the highlights of the 90-minute production, which is also expected to feature spectacular flypasts above the historic landmark.

Brigadier David Allfrey, the producer of the event, said: “The RAF bands have huge quality and depth, their presentation is first rate and, their music is both excellent and broad in its appeal. Of course, in 2015, we will be marking the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. This offers a splendid opportunity to showcase all the RAF have to offer.”
Other highlights in next year’s programme will include an appearance from the Berlin-based Crossed Swords Pipe Band, which boasts “Highland Cathedral” composer as one of its members, and the 70-piece Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes Band, from South Carolina.
It has already emerged that the 2015 Tattoo will boast a tribute to the Bollywood film industry, with around 100 performers from India and Scotland coming together for a spectacular dance sequence.
