T in the Park review: Tinie Tempah

Radio 1 / NME Stage, Sunday

IT WOULD be an understatement to say this stage is packed. It's beyond

packed: there are people squeezed tight together as far as they eye can see; all the way back to the food vans at the back, there are crowds clinging to each other and girls perched on sunburned shoulders.

Suffice to say, Tinie Tempah has arrived.

He must have heard that Beyonce made an entrance - his stage set features a big staircase. Appearing out of nowhere at the top, he launches immediately into 'Frisky'; and, immediately the crowd is hanging on, and joining in, every word.

It's one thing to have this size of audience; it's another to have them in the palm of your hand as well.

Singalongs abound as Tinie and his band charge through singles 'Invincible' and 'Written in the Stars', before causing exactly what the title suggests with new song 'Moshpit'.

Jumping around the stage in a kilt, he thrives on every bit of enthusiasm given by the audience and pays it right back. Ending on a massive version of 'Pass Out', he cements his place in T history. Huge crowd, great times, and a lot of fun.
