Surprise Yourself tourism drive brings in £90m

THE latest campaign to encourage holidaying in Scotland has brought in £90 million of business in seven months.

VisitScotland said the Surprise Yourself feature had been worth £89.9 million in additional economic benefit since launching in March, making it the best ever results for a domestic campaign.

The figures were revealed by VisitScotland chairman Mike Cantlay at the Highlands and Islands Convention in Boat of Garten yesterday.

They follow further increases in the burgeoning “staycation” sector.
