Stuntman Kidd ties the knot

STUNTMAN Eddie Kidd managed to walk down the aisle for his wedding despite the devastating injuries he suffered in a bike crash 14 years ago.

The 51-year-old was helped out of his wheelchair to tie the knot with former model and actress Samantha Kirli, yesterday. Both the bride, 41, and the groom struggled to hold back the tears as Kidd approached, assisted by best man, former wrestler Tony "Banger" Walsh.

Celebrities including actor Ray Winstone and spoon bender Uri Geller were among the guests at the emotional marriage ceremony. Kidd was left partially paralysed by spinal and neurological injuries when he crashed during a stunt at the 1996 Bulldog Bash in Warwickshire.

Speaking with the aid of a voice box, he said: "Sam has been so good for me. She's my rock and my world. I wish I'd married her earlier."
