Snow piles up on Cairngorm Mountain

Snow on the high tops turned Cairngorm Mountain into a winter wonderland on Sunday.

Four year olds Emily Thomson and Abbey Jamieson took advantage of the snowfall to build snowmen.

And staff at the Ptarmigan Restaurant , the highest in Britain, had to get their shovels out to clear the paths where the snow had drifted up to 6-feet in places. More snow falling as far down as the car park is forecast overnight.
