Shameless heading for American homes

THE controversial British television drama Shameless is being adapted for America.

The Showtime cable channel has ordered 12 episodes of the series which will feature a Chicagoan rather than English "family from hell". Creator Paul Abbott and John Wells, of The West Wing, will produce.
