The event called A Night For Scotland will take place at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall featuring Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai and Frightened Rabbit, organisers said.

Eddi Reader, Elaine C Smith and McIntosh Ross - a collaboration between Lorraine McIntosh and Ricky Ross - will also be on stage at the concert on September 14.

Mogwai said: “In just a few weeks we will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to take our place on the global stage and show the world what we are made of.”

Frightened Rabbit added: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I would urge everyone to get involved, register to vote before the deadline on Wednesday and come along and enjoy a brilliant night for Scotland.”

Tickets for the event go on sale on Monday and cost £15.

Promoter and Yes campaigner Tommy Sheppard said: “The Yes campaign has unleashed tremendous creative energy and now a small segment of Scotland’s artistic and creative community are getting together to prepare to move up another gear in the final days before the people of Scotland make the most important decision of their lives.”
