Scottish Flashback: George Square, Glasgow, 1962

THE weather outside may not be that frightful but we found this delightful ‘white Christmas’ scene from Glasgow in 1962 lurking in the depths of our picture archive.

One of the George Square lions can be seen as a man trudges through the slush across the square.

One wonders what the people in the picture would make of the Big Wheel, bright lights and fairground rides currently populating the Square.
