Scots authors get Indian festival boost

THE Scottish Government has pledged £10,000 to promote the country's writers at this month's Jaipur Literature Festival.

The festival, in Rajasthan, India, attracts thousands of book lovers from all over Asia. Alexander McCall Smith, Andrew O'Hagan and William Dalrymple will be among those at the event.
