Scotland’s first #Isleathon reaches 1m online

FIVE SCOTTISH travel bloggers who documented their island-hopping exploits over the course of a weekend managed to attract the attention of one million internet users.

The Scotlanders, comprised of Douglas Baird, Kay Gillespie, Neil Robertson, Nicola Holland and Susanne Arbuckle, teamed up with Caledonian MacBrayne ferries last Friday, and captured their adventures with photographs published with the #Isleathon hashtag on social media.

The quintet visited Barra, Bute, Canna, Colonsay, Iona, Muck, Mull, Raasay, Sanday, Skye, Staffa and Vatersay, bringing their total island count to twelve in just three days.

The Scotlanders worked on a campaign with Visit Scotland in June to promote the recently launched new Borders Railway. They have also partnered up with Welcome to Fife and Dundee.
