Scotland makes a splash with international surf showcase at Lost Shore

Scotland is making surf history this weekend. Lost Shore Surf Resort, just outside Edinburgh, will host ‘Hi-Land Fling’, a spectacular two-day event featuring 20 top class pro surfers showing off their skills in Europe’s largest inland surf destination.

Scotland is making surf history this weekend. Lost Shore Surf Resort, just outside Edinburgh, will host ‘Hi-Land Fling’, a spectacular two-day event featuring 20 top class pro surfers showing off their skills in Europe’s largest inland surf destination.

Taking place on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th June, the event will bring a festival-style atmosphere to the cutting-edge resort just outside Edinburgh. With perfect waves, world-class athletes, DJs, street food, a surf film night and fireside whisky tastings, it’s set to be one of Scotland’s most unforgettable summer events at its newest adventure tourism destination.

Whether you’re a surf fan or just looking for an exciting day out, the action is free to watch and packed with entertainment. Public surf sessions are also available for those keen to surf alongside the pro surfers.

Highlights include:

  • Live surf action with elite athletes riding powerful, head-high waves – created on-demand by one of the world’s most advanced surf pools
  • Evening surf film screening with Q&A (Monday 8pm)
  • Finals and podium celebration (Tuesday from 4pm)
  • BBQ and closing party with live DJs (Tuesday from 7pm)

Confirmed surfers include stars from across the globe, including Netflix and HBO stunt surfer Hunter Jones (USA), seven-time Irish champ Gearoid McDaid, French national champ Nicolas Paulet, Olympic Athlete Tim Elter and Scottish champions Craig McLauchlan and Pheobe Strachen.
