Family-run by head chef and owner Jason Gallagher and his partner, Jane Walker, who manages front of house, The Stockbridge Restaurant has been under the duo's control since the summer of 2004.

An informal take on fine dining, the eatery boasts excellent food and attentive service with a menu that changes frequently, but can always be guaranteed to use fresh, seasonal produce from local suppliers.

The beauty of the restaurant is rightly its food, classic dishes with a modern twist, but its flexibility has earned many followers since it opened its doors.

Evenings can be tailored to accommodate individual requirements - such as family celebrations - making dining at The Stockbridge Restaurant an even more personal experience.

Management is also happy to open for lunch (for tables of six or more) on any day of the week, giving guests exclusive use of the restaurant for a "private dining" experience.

Dinner is served Tuesday to Sunday, 7pm to 9.30pm, and offers a range of dishes from a choice of menus.

At the moment, diners can make the most of a 19.95 two-course set menu, or a three-course set menu for 23.95, available Tuesday to Friday. Dishes include wild mushroom soup with hazelnut crostini, and goats' cheese and walnut frangipane gateau with sauted potatoes and basil pesto.
