The table was made by McPoker Tables based in Edinburgh, and is being sold by the firm’s owner, Mike McCarron.

Proceeds for the sale will go to TOFS, a charity which supports families of children born with Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula - a condition which causes an inability to swallow.

Mr McCarron, 35, came up with the idea after two customers of his, who later became friends, told him their little girl suffered from the condition.

He said: “They told me there was a charity that was supporting them, so we thought we would raise a bit of money with the table.

Greg Hemphill follows me on Twitter, and we kind of came up with the idea of a Still Game-themed table.

“I had been toying with the idea of making a Still Game table anyway, so I thought I may as well auction it off for charity.”

Mr McCarron added: “This table is going to be a big free standing table, including cup holders, which is a lot more than I would put on the basic tables I also make.

“For the cloth, Greg and myself sat down and came up with the idea that each player position would be a character - when you sit down you can play as Jack, Victor, or even Pete the Jakey if you choose to - although I’m not sure if that will be a popular choice.

“The table is a ten seater, so there will be ten characters in all.

“The names will be on the cloth - which I don’t have back yet, but I’m hoping it will be something really special.

“There is also a wee surprise with the cloth, which I won’t be revealing until the auction probably.”

Mr McCarron, who has also made a custom poker table for Andy Murray after a family member requested it last year, is aiming to have the table finished by the end of the month, auctioning it off in early September.
