MUSIC PROTECTS

Local DJ Isla Anderson has organised a night of music to aid Aegis Rwanda, a charity working to prevent crimes against humanity. Tonight’s entertainment includes live acts Jellyman’s Daughter, Jenny Dryden and Duncan McIntosh. A soulful house selection comes by way of DJs Craig Smith (6th Borough Project) and Pete Oadken (True Rebels). Tonight, Thursday 28 February, Voodoo Rooms, 7.30pm – 1am, £6

TEMPLE - GOES TRIBAL

Tonight is Tribal so dress appropriate (war paint, ripped clothes, etc). Guest DJ Joe Peel headlines the main room playing house and electro. DJ Dansco & Beef play out of the funk room while DJ Sparky serves up vintage in the old school room. As always the Temple Drummers bash out an exciting barrage of live percussion. PLAYGROUND - AMERICAN FRAT PARTY

The title says it all and everyone is encouraged to dress up – the ladies as cheerleaders and the gents as jocks presumably (varsity jackets, baseball tops/caps). Ping pong tables and pizzas with free caps on entry. DJ David Beatson plays commercial hits and R n’ b classics all night long. WE KNOW THEY’VE GOT SOUL

Biggest student night with the worst music – but hey, they still manage to pull in huge crowds of plastered students. XPLICIT 8THE BIRTHDAY PARTY – CALYX & TEEBEE

WOT D FUNK – LAUNCH PARTY

UNSEEN 1.11 – HOSPITALIZED

Brooding, atmospheric techno from the Unseen DJs will be given a wild makeover by the Animal Hospital crew. Expect everything from dark pulsating techno to funked up techno with a groove. BRAINSTORM – PURE (ACID HOUSE)

Brainstorm is arguably Edinburgh’s most influential DJ; he was one half of the infamous PURE techno duo who introduced the biggest names in techno to Scotland. For one night only he’s back championing the sound of the TB-303, mixing up Acid House straight from ‘89. With support from Steve Cass and Justin Wilson. GAZ (GEORDIE SHORE)

If you want to meet reality TV star ‘Gaz’ in the flesh then look no further... Gaz who, “Drink, party and pull women for a living” will meet and greet fans. MUMBO JUMBO/BUBBLE
