Outlander casts five new characters for Season 4

Scottish actor Billy Boyd has been revealed as one of five new additions to the Outlander clan.

The Starz drama will return to our screens in November, with an additional five new characters joining Claire and Jamie for the highly anticipated fourth season.

Lord of the Rings actor Billy Boyd will star as Gerald Forbes, Caitlin O’Ryan as Lizzie Wemyss, Natalie Simpson as Phaedre, Tim Downie as Governor William Tryon, and Simona Brown as Gayle.

The fourth season of Outlander will be based on Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling book, Drums of Autumn

Glasgow actor Boyd is set to play the role of Gerald Forbes, a rich lawyer in Cross Creek, North Carolina, who is also friends with Jamie’s aunt, Jocasta Cameron.

Earlier this month, Starz announced it had renewed Outlander for a fifth and sixth season.

The fourth season is currently filming in various locations across Scotland.
