New book lets readers knit their own Broons

A NEW book that teaches people how to knit characters from one of Scotland’s most beloved comic strip has been launched.

Knitting enthusiasts can immortalise their favourite characters from The Broons in wool with the help of Knit Your Own Broons, written by Ruth Bailey and Jackie Holt.

The duo have released other knitting books such as Knit Your Own Scotland and Knit Your Own Britain.

The Broons first appeared in The Sunday Post newspaper in 1936, and has become a Scottish comic institution.
