1 Who would be your ideal weekend companion?
Heston Blumenthal, as I’m impressed by his creativity with food.
2 Where would you take them in Edinburgh?
For a round of golf at Prestonfield or Gullane to relax and switch off while I pick his brain. Then we’d play rounders with my sons.
3 Where would you go for breakfast/lunch/dinner?
Breakfast – a fry up and a pint at King’s Wark at The Shore. Lunch at the beach as chefs like to get outside when they can. Dinner would be at The Stockbridge Restaurant so I could experience the customer’s viewpoint and get feedback from Heston on the menu.
4 What one item could you not be without?
Well-travelled golf clubs.
5 How would your perfect weekend finish?
With a beach barbecue made by my partner, Jane (of course, chefs don’t cook on their day off) while watching the sun go down.
