The gigs in September and October are the first events to take place at the new Hydro. In a statement, Stewart’s management said that the singer’s tour team have visited the venue and finalised the set design, with extra tickets now available after sightlines were calculated.
The news quells fears over the building’s readiness. The new £125 million venue, which was hit by a setback when a fire broke out in the roofin June.
Stewart is touring in support of his number one album ‘Time’, his first LP to top the charts in 34 years.
