Loch Morlich named as one of the UK's best winter walks
Located at the foot of the Cairngorm mountains, just a few miles from Aviemore, a walk around Loch Morlich was described as being “one of the best ways to experience some of Scotland’s glorious mountainous region, without actually having to climb one”.
According to the website, the 3.75 miles route is surrounded by the diversity of woodland, beaches and mountains and offers a great view of the Cairngorms, which are particularly beautiful in winter when the “peaks are at their most snow-adorned”.

James Morris, Managing Director at holidaycottages.co.uk, said : “The UK is full of breath taking country walks which can be fully enjoyed during winter as well as Summer.
“Loch Morlich is lined in part by the Cairngorms which are beautiful during the Summer season, but the snow adorned peaks during the Winter months is when it is at its best. Making it the perfect location for a Saturday afternoon winter walk or the perfect post-Christmas dinner walk.”
The other idyllic walks that made the list, which can be found here, include the Ashridge Estate Boundary Trail in Hertfordshire and the New Forest trails in Hampshire.
